It accepts 4K@60P signals and shifts each pixel diagonally by half a pixel to make the image look closer to true 4K, though it’s not the same as a native 4K projector.
4K Enhancement helps you see small details and text more clearly in 4K content.
As shown in the images, tiny text and fine details that are hard to see on a regular 2K (WUXGA or 1080p) projector can often be seen with pixel shifting. This makes a big difference for reading CAD, engineering, scientific drawings, and anything needing sharp detail.
With good image processing, the L570U does a great job mimicking true 4K content. You only notice the difference when comparing it side-by-side with a real 4K projector.
The projector also supports 16:6 and 21:9 aspect ratios. Using these can improve video calls. The 21:9 widescreen ratio gives a wider view, showing more content on the screen and making video meetings feel more natural and connecte
Ultrawide aspect ratios improve teamwork and make sharing content easier during video calls.
With a wider screen, you can have several apps or windows open side by side—like video calls, chats, slides, and documents. This helps you multitask better and be more productive since you don’t need to keep switching between screens.
The wider view also helps collaboration by showing more video feeds at once, so you can catch facial expressions and body language better. You can also keep presentations or documents visible alongside the video, making it easier to work together.
When presenting, the 21:9 screen shows more content across without extra scrolling or zooming. This is great for wide spreadsheets, diagrams, or visuals, making sure everyone can see the content clearly.
Use Epson iProjection to wirelessly project from Chromebook, iOS, or Android devices.
The Epson PowerLite L570U works great with several business tools. Epson’s iProjection software lets you wirelessly show content from your phone, laptop, or tablet. Up to 40 users can connect, and 4 can share content on the screen at the same time. You don’t need extra gear—just the projector and iProjection app to get started.
The Epson Projector Professional Tool (EPPT) helps you control multiple projectors on a network. It detects projectors automatically and lets you adjust focus, zoom, shift, geometric correction, and edge blending remotely.
Epson Projector Content Manager lets you create playlists of images and videos saved on external storage. You can control playback options like timing, transitions, loops, brightness, and effects. It also supports scheduling and playing the same content on multiple projectors at once.
For iOS users, the Epson Creative Projection App helps create custom visuals, perfect for retail displays or art installations to make your space more vibrant.
The optional PixAlign™ ELPEC01 camera makes setting up multiple projectors easier.
The PowerLite L570U works with the PixAlign™ ELPEC01 camera, which attaches right to the projector. Together with Epson’s projection tools, it speeds up color calibration and geometric corrections, making complex setups simple. The camera is great for multi-projector setups, helping match colors perfectly across all projectors on a network. It also includes a tiling assist tool for smooth edge blending when creating large or ultra-wide displays.

The front features a large lens, an intake fan, and LED indicator lights. On top, there are knobs to adjust the lens shift.
All ports, power, and menu buttons are at the back. Fans on the sides help keep the projector cool.
PowerLite L570U Inputs and Connections
The VPL-PHZ61 supports many inputs designed for business and education. It can natively accept 4K 60P signals, making it easy to use with multiple screens and flat panels. You can split the same 4K signal to all your devices without converting it from 30p.
Sony Data Cloning helps network admins copy settings from one VPL-PHZ61 projector to others via USB, making multi-projector setups much easier.
The projector comes with a backplate that covers all ports and menu controls to prevent tampering, great for public or easy-to-access locations.
The L570U offers many connection options, including two HDMI inputs that support 4K at 60 fps. The ports are:

The Epson PowerLite L570U has a manual 1.6x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 20.0 mm to 31.8 mm, giving it great flexibility. It also offers manual lens shift—vertical up to ±50% and horizontal up to ±20%. This wide zoom and shift range makes installation easy, especially when replacing an older fixed projector.
Here are the minimum and maximum throw distances for some common 16:10 screen sizes:
100 inches: 9.58 ft (2.92 m) to 15.55 ft (4.74 m)
120 inches: 11.5 ft (3.51 m) to 18.7 ft (5.69 m)
150 inches: 14.4 ft (4.4 m) to 23.4 ft (7.13 m)
200 inches: 19.3 ft (5.88 m) to 31.2 ft (9.52 m)
300 inches: 29 ft (8.84 m) to 46.9 ft (14.29 m)
500 inches: 47.1 ft (14.37 m) to 75.6 ft (23.04 m)
The zoom and lens shift make the L570U very flexible for different setups. Epson also offers a free online Projector Throw Distance Simulator for more detailed placement help.
Note that the lens ring sticks out from the projector body, so be careful when moving it. Luckily, it comes with a lens cap to protect it during transport.
The remote control is a typical Epson design—comfortable to hold with easy-to-press buttons. It doesn’t have a backlight, which might be tricky in total darkness but shouldn’t be a problem in most cases.
The L570U remote has many handy shortcuts, like Source Search, dedicated Input buttons, Aspect Ratio, Menu, and Escape. It also includes standard controls like Page Up/Down and Volume Up/Down. You can easily access almost all main features of the projector with this remote.
The freeze button is especially useful. It lets you freeze the image on the screen while your media keeps playing in the background. You can then prepare the next slide or video quietly and unfreeze when ready. This adds a professional touch to presentations.
Even though the remote is a bit smaller, the buttons are well spaced and easy to use. There are quick buttons for Color Mode, Aspect Ratio, and a Custom User button where you can choose options like Light Source Mode, Info, Test Pattern, Resolution, On-screen Display, Image Enhancement, or Content Playback.
Overall, the L570U remote is simple and convenient, letting you control the projector quickly and easily.
MENUS
This projector has a redesigned menu that’s a bit different from some 2022 models but still includes all the features you know. You can open the menu using the remote or the button on the back of the projector.
The main menu is simple and divided into sections like image, signal, settings, extended, network, info, and reset. It’s easy to navigate and quickly find what you need. Pressing the home button brings up a different menu with all input options and handy shortcuts, making it even easier to use.
You can turn the 4K enhancement on or off in the image enhancement settings. There are also super resolution and detail enhancement options to fine-tune the picture. You can save your custom settings as presets to use later.
Performance – Color Reproduction
Epson is known for making great professional and home theater projectors. Although the PowerLite L570U is mainly for business use in bright rooms, it also delivers impressive colors and supports a wide HDR range. So, if you want to use it for a home theater, it will give you a great movie experience.
To help you get the best picture, the projector offers several preset color modes that you can access using the Color Mode button on the remote. These include PRESENTATION, NATURAL, CINEMA, BT.709, DICOM SIM, MULTI-PROJECTION, and DYNAMIC.
The HDR feature is flexible too. You can check if your source supports HDR in the signal menu and then adjust the projector’s HDR settings to fit your room and preferences. This helps you get the best image quality by matching the dynamic range to your environment.
For SDR content, Presentation mode is the brightest, perfect for well-lit rooms showing text, images, or graphs. For movies or HDR content, Natural mode gives the best colors, while Dynamic mode boosts brightness. All modes have smooth and consistent frame rates, but there are no special sports or motion smoothing modes.
The PowerLite L570 also includes a DICOM Simulation mode for medical images like X-rays and MRIs. It shows good contrast and detail with low noise, making it useful for medical training and education. However, it’s not meant to replace real medical films for diagnosis — it’s best for classrooms and teaching purposes.
BRIGHTNESS
The Epson PowerLite L570U is rated at 5,200 ANSI lumens. To check this, I set the projector to its brightest mode, which was NATURAL, and took several brightness readings near the center of the screen.
The projector measured 5,105 ANSI lumens, very close to Epson’s claim.
Brightness is a big strength of this projector. The light is even across the whole screen with no bright spots or dim edges. Since it can project images up to 500 inches, having strong and consistent brightness really helps.
For comparison, here are the brightness measurements of the Sony VPL-PHZ61 in different modes:
Natural: 5,105 lumens
Cinema: 4,877 lumens
Dynamic: 4,380 lumens
Presentation: 4,865 lumens
BT.709: 4,580 lumens
BLACK LEVEL AND SHADOW DETAIL
The photos above show how the L570U handles dark scenes and its black-level performance.
For business projectors like this one, the main focus is usually on brightness and color accuracy rather than deep black levels. Epson’s 3LCD panels combined with dynamic laser dimming help deliver good shadow detail and decent black levels.
Thanks to its high brightness and strong contrast, HDR movies look better on the L570U than on many other business projectors. So in a dark room, you’ll enjoy clearer, more detailed dark scenes in your movies.
Black levels also depend a lot on your screen type and room setup. By adjusting brightness, contrast, and color temperature, you can get good results that are easy on your eyes while watching
VIDEO IMAGE QUALITY
To check the picture quality of the PowerLite L570U, I tested it with different media sources. I connected a Blu-ray player, a Chromecast, and a PC with a Plex server. I played local files, Blu-rays, and streamed content from Netflix and YouTube. Thanks to the 4K enhancement, details looked sharp and clear from all sources.
You can easily use simple devices like a Chromecast with this projector because my Blu-ray player and PC didn’t really improve the image much. This projector is mainly designed for business use, working best with phones, tablets, and laptops as the main media sources.
For the best picture quality, use an HDR-compatible device like Chromecast 4K or Apple TV, and turn on HDR in the projector settings. This helps you get the most from your projector.
Most HDR content looks great, but sometimes bright areas can lose detail—like a waterfall looking too bright or snow scenes appearing washed out
TEXT AND PRESENTATION QUALITY
When you connect a laptop to the projector via HDMI or wireless casting, the screen might look smaller and not fill the whole projector screen. But you can use the projector’s zoom feature to enlarge your display, making all text clear and easy to read even from a distance.
If your laptop is set to WUXGA (1920 x 1200) or 4K (3840 x 2180), the text will be sharp, with small fonts (as small as 8 points) showing clear edges and little blur. The Presentation mode is best for slides, documents, graphs, and spreadsheets. Plus, the projector’s 4K Enhancement helps pull more detail from 4K content compared to regular WUXGA projectors.
Audio Quality
The PowerLite L570U has a built-in 10W mono speaker. While it’s not strong enough for large rooms or home theaters, it works well for small to medium conference rooms and classrooms. The sound is clear and loud enough for presentations, lectures, and video calls, with minimal distortion.
The projector runs quietly, with fan noise at 31 dB in Normal mode and only 23 dB in Eco mode. This low noise level won’t distract you during meetings or movies.
In summary, the speaker delivers clear sound for smaller spaces, and the quiet fan keeps the focus on your presentation or movie without disruption.
SUMMARY
The PowerLite L570U is a powerful laser projector with excellent image quality, strong connectivity, and flexible installation options. Using 3-chip 3LCD technology and 5,200 lumens brightness, it delivers bright, vivid images with accurate colors and even brightness across the screen. Its 4K Enhancement feature makes the picture sharper and smoother, even when viewed up close. The projector supports both regular and ultra-wide screen sizes, making it perfect for immersive video calls and many other uses.
Compared to other laser projectors around $3,000, the Epson PowerLite L570U holds its own. A similar option is the LG ProBeam BU53PST, which has many comparable features.
The Epson L570U uses poly-silicon TFT technology, while the LG BU53PST uses DLP laser technology. The LG costs more at $4,299, but the Epson is a bit brighter with 5,200 lumens compared to LG’s 5,000 lumens. The LG offers a higher contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1.
Both projectors support 4K enhancement and 60fps video, so image quality is similar. They also share a long 20,000-hour laser lamp life.
If noise matters, the LG is quieter at 26-29 dB, while the Epson is around 31 dB in normal mode. Both have 10W built-in speakers, power zoom, focus, and lens shift. The LG has both wireless and LAN networking, but the Epson only has LAN.
The LG is bigger and heavier (14.6″ x 6.1″ x 11.4″, 21.4 lbs) compared to the Epson (19.5″ x 6.3″ x 15.7″, 19.2 lbs), making the Epson more portable. Both come with a 3-year warranty.
Overall, the Epson L570U and LG BU53PST are similar, but the Epson is about $1,000 cheaper, making it a great choice.
